Capacity Planning
Plan capacity from measured behavior and expected demand
Capacity planning uses workload, utilization and performance evidence to identify where growth or peak demand may create constraints.
Demand, resources and behavior
Capacity is a relationship between demand, resource limits and the behavior users experience. A service may appear healthy at average load while a peak exposes a bottleneck in an application, integration or shared platform. Planning therefore needs both measurements from the current system and explicit assumptions about future demand.
Applying a capacity model
This capability is connected to performance analysis, load testing, architecture and monitoring. Recommendations depend on measured behavior and stated demand assumptions; they are not a generic instruction to add infrastructure.
A capacity estimate is sensitive to the workload it assumes. Average utilization may hide a peak, while a synthetic peak may not represent actual demand. CodeAttest compares measured behavior with stated growth or release assumptions and makes the uncertainty visible before recommending resource or architecture changes.
