Application Security

Put application-security findings in technical context

Application security connects architecture, dependencies and runtime behavior with the technical risks that engineering teams need to understand and address.

Technical risk in application context

A security finding is useful to engineering only when the affected component, its dependencies and the relevant operating context are understood. Architecture and runtime information help teams distinguish a possible exposure from an isolated scan result. The evidence also determines what can be concluded: an engineering review has a different purpose and boundary from a penetration test or formal compliance audit.

Using the findings

This capability is related to software audit, architecture, observability and Dynatrace application-security context. The exact scope must be agreed explicitly. It does not by itself mean penetration testing, legal compliance certification or a formal security audit.

A finding matters differently depending on the component, its dependencies and whether the affected behavior is reachable in the running system. CodeAttest relates available security information to architecture and operations so that engineering teams can discuss priority and ownership. Conclusions remain limited by the evidence and the explicitly agreed review boundary.
